"Boston" Rob Finds His 'Why'

The most unforgettable travel experiences aren’t always the easiest to reach—they’re driven by a clear purpose. Once I know my “why,” whether it’s crossing something off a bucket list, making memories with family, or challenging myself to try something new, there’s no turning back.

Over the years, I’ve pushed myself through some of the most iconic adventure experiences on Survivor, The Amazing Race, and most recently The Traitors, along with work across hosting and production. Outside of travel and work, my focus stays on family, Boston sports, and the simple things that keep me grounded.

My “why” is simple—choosing meaningful experiences and making sure nothing gets in the way of living them fully.

ROB'S TRAVEL ITINERARY

These are some of the trips I’ve taken—or still want to take—that reflect how I approach travel: a mix of adrenaline-filled adventures and meaningful exploration of new places. Each one represents a different “why,” whether it’s pushing limits, discovering something new, or creating lasting memories. This is travel, my way.

Bungy jumping in Queenstown, New Zealand

Queenstown is widely known as the adventure capital of the world, famous for commercializing activities previously considered too dangerous for every person. They have it all: jet boating, sky diving, heli-skiing and they are particularly known for bungy jumping. I’ve been before but didn’t have the chance to bungy, so I’ve made it my mission to return and do the AJ Hackett Bungy Jump. It’s not for everyone, but maybe I could get Dylan [Efron] up for the challenge – he’s bungeed before!

All the rides at Disney World in Orlando, Florida

Disney World is classic and beloved for a reason. We did Disney as a family when the girls were younger, and I have such fond memories of taking them on the tea cups. Now that they’re older, I’d love to take them on the rollercoasters, see the thrills through their eyes and help them conquer the rides they were too young (or too scared) to do before. The Road to Hana

The coastal views, waterfalls and lush rainforests make this journey incredibly worth it, but the 64-mile stretch of highway with more than 620 curves, narrow and steep stretches would be no easy feat for someone who suffers from car sickness – so pack your Dramamine®! My brother and I did this about 7 years ago (if only I had Advanced Herbals® Ginger Chews while he was driving…) but the full round trip can be up to 12 hours, so there’s more to see. Pro Trip: Plan around key sightseeing spots like the black sand beaches at Waiʻānapanapa State Park or a hike in Haleakalā National Park.

Olympic training facilities in Whistler, British Columbia

I tend to prefer warmer weather destinations while traveling, but not only is Whistler a beautiful destination, there are tons of adventurous sports activities you can try all year long. Having the chance to ski, bobsled and even try more niche sports like skeleton in the place where the world’s greatest have trained is surreal. You quite literally have to overcome your comfort zone and lean into the speed, which can be quite a rush.

Dog sledding tours in Alaska

I’ve never been to Alaska but have always wanted to go on a dog sledding tour. It’s a perfect blend of wilderness exploration and learning a new skill – it’s actually the state’s official sport! Plus, you get to spend time with the dog and puppy athletes, arguably the best part. But I don’t want to just ride on the sled, I want to learn to “drive,” give proper mushing instructions and let the dogs lead the way.

I would love to see Yosemite National Park from the air just because there’s so much to see – Yosemite Falls, El Capitan, Half Dome, Giant Sequoias – and seeing it from that perspective would give a unique appreciation for its scale and vastness. I know from experience that quick ascents and descents on a helicopter can make my stomach turn, so having something quick for on-the-go nausea like NEW Dramamine® Less Drowsy Powder would be a must-pack.

Deep sea fishing in Florida

I’ve lived in Florida for more than 20 years now and have grown fond of deep sea fishing. Being on the water away from it all can be so serene, and not knowing what you’ll reel in adds to the thrill.
